It takes a pencil to draw, a book to open up their imagination & a very small contribution to make a big difference :)

Dear all,

Terima kasih :))

-----------------------------------------------------------------

Dear all,

It has been among my dreams to help indonesian children. Fortunately my good friends, Nila and Eva, asked me to join them to share and spend some time with children from Taman Bacaan Pelangi (Rainbow Reading Gardens) in remote areas of Eastern Indonesia, a place I wanted to visit.

Taman Bacaan Pelangi is non-profit organization which set up community libraries for children living in remote areas in the eastern part of Indonesia. Its aim is to nurture the children's interest in reading and increase their access to quality books. The library will enable the children in the most remote areas access to good quality books. Established in December 5, 2009 by Nila Tanzil, Taman Bacaan Pelangi is now available in 26 villages spreadout in 11  islands in East Indonesia, among them: Flores, Timor, Lombok, Sumbawa, Sulawesi and the Isles of Banda in Maluku.

This month, I will donate my earnings from my kids yoga class to the children in East Indonesia. Also from my art and craft clas. Income received from every child taking 1 yoga class will cover the fee of 10 children in the remote areas (1 village may have up to 100 children) of eastern Indonesia to participate in a Creative Workshop at Taman Bacaan Pelangi.

It takes a pencil to draw, a book to open up their imagination,  and a very small contribution to make a big difference.

So come join my KidsYoga class kiddos or Kutakatik Art Craft Class . For more info and for those who are interested in donating, kindly email to kyra.pradiono@gmail.com

Thank you :))

Make Magic Do Good

Dallas Clayton is one of my favorite author and artist for children's book. I collect his books. "Make Magic! Do Good!" is an adorable book filled with fun poems and artwork. The illustrations are just as magical as the poems. This book will make young readers smile and makes you want to have positive attitudes and trying something new. One of my favorite books for sure now. I'm so happy because I was looking for this book for quite a long time, and then when I went to Singapore last month, it was there...on the shelf at this book store! If it meant to be...it meant to be :)

The book is best summed up by Dallas Clayton's words on the back of the cover...

I wrote this book to remind you that you’re magic.
You’re reading this.
You right now.
You here and you there.
You’re something special,
and I hope that someday
you get a chance
to make your own book
or paint your own picture
or build your own rocket ship
or find your own kind of happiness
and that you get a chance
to share it with the rest of us
just like I got a chance
to share my happiness
with you.

Go get it if you can!

Flora and the Flamingo ♥

I collect children books and got this one last weekend. I'm in love with this book...heartwarming :)

Molly Idle used to be an artist working for DreamWorks Feature Animation and from there she leapt into the world of children’s books :)

"In this innovative wordless book, a tentative partnership blooms into an unlikely friendship between a girl named Flora and a gracefull Flamingo. With a twist, a turn and a flop, this unlikely friends learn at last how to dance together in a perfect harmony."
