Unexpected Birds

And sometimes you are walking down a familiar path on a spring morning, and there are questions raging, questions that seem to demand immediate answers. What to do with this precious gift of a life? Where to go? What to say next? Which choice to make or not make? Which voice to listen to? How to make everything okay again? How to hold it all together? How to avoid falling apart?

And suddenly the questions cannot hold, they shatter into a million silences, because a tiny bird has perched itself on the path in front of you, perched in the here and now, not in the there and then in which you are seeking your answers. Your eyes meet hers, and you know that everything is okay with the universe. Questions will get answered, or not, and solutions will appear or not appear at the perfect time, because you will make yourself available to them, as you are available now to this tiny and unexpected bird.

Perhaps today is not a day for answers and unshakeable certainties, it is a day for birdsong and staying close to questions as they walk with you down familiar paths on spring mornings.

"I love that you get cold when it's 71 degrees out. I love that it takes you an hour and a half to order a sandwich. I love that you get a little crinkle above your nose when you're looking at me like I'm nuts. I love that after I spend the day with you, I can still smell your perfume on my clothes. And I love that you are the last person I want to talk to before I go to sleep at night. And it's not because I'm lonely, and it's not because it's New Year's Eve. I came here tonight because when you realize you want to spend the rest of your life with somebody, you want the rest of your life to start as soon as possible..."

...

Sisa-sisamu.

Biar. Cukup sudah."

35

My birthday was on December 14th and this year birthday was one of the happiest birthday I've ever had. First, on Dec 13th...I got my first present, pre-birthday...a Little Prince planner...love this!

Then on December 14th...early in the morning I got to do KidsYogArts and I got a surprise birthday cake from my sister Raya, my good friend Tina and Tina :)

Then for lunch, I spent it with my besties, Agie, Ningrum, Bita and Esti...minus Jacqueline. We had lunch at Aksan's new place "Largo". It was a nice and cozy place indeed, with good food too...

After that....got to celebrate my birthday again with the whole family for dinner...grandma, parents, sister, uncles, aunts, cousins, nieces, nephews...

I'm blessed and I feel loved indeed :))

But it's not the end yet. Then on December 15th...it was a wonderful day too because me and my good friend Echa got to celebrate our birthday (Echa's birthday was Dec 7th) with YUM's Jakarta Sponsorship kids. We invited 33 children (one of them was Gufran, it was nice to meet him for sure) to watch the movie "Sokola Rimba" with our close friends and my cousins too.

Thank you Tarra, Sabine, Mabel, Amal, Hauritsa, Mario, Nakita, Esti, Elda, Ilana, Adina, Kara, Karina, Erna, Siska and Ibu Nori for the help, for being there with us and the kids :))

Yes, it was a great birthday indeed this year, I feel tired and blessed at the same time...two days in a row. But for sure...I'm glad because I got to spend it with my family and my good friends and the kids too...so thank you God :))

Timeless

One of my fave song of all time :))

Kindness is timeless
Love is so easy to give
It just takes a moment
To show somebody that you care x2

In the world that we live in
Everybody wants to be so cruel
To be in the in-crowd
Got the hottest clothes, the hottest shoes
We're reading the tabloids
And we're flossing in the club
But the freshest thing you can do is
Give someone your love

Kindness is timeless
Love is so easy to give
It just takes a moment
To show somebody you care

Kindness is timeless
Love is so easy to give
It just takes a moment to...

Give someone your love
To give someone your lalala love
To give someone your love
Give someone your love
Your lalalala love
Give someone your lalala love

The clothes that your wearing
It will one day be out of style
The car that your driving
One day will vax out in miles
Your hair and your makeup
And the time that it takes up
It will take the same care of
Ya give someone ya love

Kindness is timeless
Love is so easy to give
It just takes a moment
To show somebody you care
Kindness is timeless
Love is so easy to give
It just takes a moment to...

To give someone your love
To give someone your lalala love
To give someone your love
Give someone your love
Your lalalala love
Give someone your lalala love

Give someone you love

Cause kindness is timeless

Something To Ponder

Got this one from the internet...i'll copy paste it for you...

George Carlin's wife died early in 2008 and George followed her, dying in July 2008. It is ironic George Carlin - comedian of the 70's and 80's - could write something so very eloquent and so very appropriate. An observation by George Carlin:

The paradox of our time in history is that we have taller buildings but shorter tempers, wider Freeways, but narrower viewpoints. We spend more, but have less, we buy more, but enjoy less. We have bigger houses and smaller families, more conveniences, but less time. We have more degrees but less sense, more knowledge, but less judgment, more experts, yet more problems, more medicine, but less wellness.

We drink too much, smoke too much, spend too recklessly, laugh too little, drive too fast, get too angry, stay up too late, get up too tired, read too little, watch TV too much, and pray too seldom.

We have multiplied our possessions, but reduced our values. We talk too much, love too seldom, and hate too often.

We've learned how to make a living, but not a life. We've added years to life not life to years. We've been all the way to the moon and back, but have trouble crossing the street to meet a new neighbor. We conquered outer space but not inner space. We've done larger things, but not better things.

We've cleaned up the air, but polluted the soul. We've conquered the atom, but not our prejudice. We write more, but learn less. We plan more, but accomplish less. We've learned to rush, but not to wait. We build more computers to hold more information, to produce more copies than ever, but we communicate less and less.

These are the times of fast foods and slow digestion, big men and small character, steep profits and shallow relationships. These are the days of two incomes but more divorce, fancier houses, but broken homes. These are days of quick trips, disposable diapers, throwaway morality, one night stands, overweight bodies, and pills that do everything from cheer, to quiet, to kill. It is a time when there is much in the showroom window and nothing in the stockroom. A time when technology can bring this letter to you, and a time when you can choose either to share this insight, or to just hit delete.

Remember to spend some time with your loved ones, because they are not going to be around forever.

Remember, say a kind word to someone who looks up to you in awe, because that little person soon will grow up and leave your side.

Remember, to give a warm hug to the one next to you, because that is the only treasure you can give with your heart and it doesn't cost a cent.

Remember, to say, 'I love you' to your partner and your loved ones, but most of all mean it. A kiss and an embrace will mend hurt when it comes from deep inside of you.

Remember to hold hands and cherish the moment for someday that person will not be there again.

Give time to love, give time to speak! And give time to share the precious thoughts in your mind.

And always remember, life is not measured by the number of breaths we take, but by those moments that take our breath away.

George Carlin

Paul McCartney & Wings: Silly Love Songs

One of my fave song of all time:

You'd Think That People Would Have Had Enought Of Silly Love Songs.
But I Look Around Me And I See It Isn't So.
Some People Wanna Fill The World With Silly Love Songs.
And What's Wrong With That?
I'd Like To Know, 'Cause Here I Go Again
I Love You, I Love You,
I Love You, I Love You.

I Can't Explain The Feeling's Plain To Me; Say Can't You See?
Ah, She Gave Me More, She Gave It All To Me
Now Can't You See, What's Wrong With That
I Need To Know, 'Cause Here I Go Again
I Love You, I Love You.

Love Doesn't Come In A Minute,
Sometimes It Doesn't Come At All
I Only Know That When I'm In It
It Isn't Silly, No, It Isn't Silly, Love Isn't Silly At All.

How Can I Tell You About My Loved One?
How Can I Tell You About My Loved One?

How Can I Tell You About My Loved One?
(I Loveyou)
How Can I Tell You About My Loved One?
(I Loveyou)

Ho'oponopono

Hoʻoponopono (ho-o-pono-pono) is an ancient Hawaiian practice of reconciliation and forgiveness. Got this link from my friend Eva. I like this part. I'll copy paste it for you...

"This site is the result of many months of  "cleaning" and procrastination. I have always felt that the simple principles of atonement offeres by Ho'oponopono are a gift from the Creator so that we may finally take our rightful place on Earth and enjoy life of peace, joy, abundance and good health...not just for some, but for everyone. I truly believe that our role on earth is of caretakers, taking care of the animals, plants and of each other. It is clear to me that we are now experiencing the effects of thousands years of greedm hate and appalling cruelty towards the animals, nature and other human beings. I believe that through  Ho'oponopono The Creator has given us the opportunity to repair the damage. I am doing my part and for the sake of all of us, I hope that you will do the same."

"I am sorry, I forgive you, I love you, Thank you..."

Are We Meant to Meet the People We Meet?

I like this article by Jessica Cooper from MindBodyGreen.

"Are we destined to meet the people we meet?

Yes.

I know we are.

Every person we meet, we are meant to meet. No matter how long they stay in our lives.

Every person has something to teach us. Whether they stay for an hour, a day, or 10 years, they are there for the right amount of time. That amount of time is simply how long it takes you to learn the soul lesson. There are 6 billion people in this world, nothing is an accident.

If the experience seems negative, and this certain person really irritates you, or you feel like you cannot connect to someone, that experience presents itself in your journey to give you an opportunity to learn patience, understanding, or perhaps empathy. It gives you an opportunity to see yourself even in someone your ego categorizes as different, less than, or not good.

The people we meet who seem special, with whom we connect instantaneously… they enter into our journey to show us we are on the right path. To show that we are creating a path for ourselves that is true to our being, to our soul, to our creativity… and connecting to people at higher levels proves this.

If you emit that truthful, soul-driven energy, you will receive those experiences in return. Tenfold. So raise your vibration, be you, and see what you attract!

If you believe that there is meaning behind every interaction in your life, then you will always be kind, patient, loving, and be free of attachment.

Trust that the universe has your best interest in mind, and it will.

We are all the same, truly, at the very core of our being. We are energies, meshing and flowing, and changing continuously. We are all in different places in our journeys.

The soul’s journey is more than just this lifetime… so let’s all love and let go of judgment. Everything is everything."

Hari Anak Sedunia / Universal Childrens Day :))

20 November 2012, Hari Anak Sedunia or Universal Childrens Day :))

“My hope and wish is that one day, formal education will pay attention to what I call education of the heart. Just as we take for granted the need to acquire proficiency in the basic academic subjects, I am hopeful that a time will come when we can take it for granted that children will learn, as part of the curriculum, the indispensability of inner values: love, compassion, justice, and forgiveness.” The Dalai Lama

How do we fall in love?

I love Jeanette Winterson's poetic response...

"You don’t fall in love like you fall in a hole. You fall like falling through space. It’s like you jump off your own private planet to visit someone else’s planet. And when you get there it all looks different: the flowers, the animals, the colours people wear. It is a big surprise falling in love because you thought you had everything just right on your own planet, and that was true, in a way, but then somebody signalled to you across space and the only way you could visit was to take a giant jump. Away you go, falling into someone else’s orbit and after a while you might decide to pull your two planets together and call it home. And you can bring your dog. Or your cat. Your goldfish, hamster, collection of stones, all your odd socks. (The ones you lost, including the holes, are on the new planet you found.)

And you can bring your friends to visit. And read your favourite stories to each other. And the falling was really the big jump that you had to make to be with someone you don’t want to be without. That’s it.
PS You have to be brave."
