Unexpected Birds
And sometimes you are walking down a familiar path on a spring morning, and there are questions raging, questions that seem to demand immediate answers. What to do with this precious gift of a life? Where to go? What to say next? Which choice to make or not make? Which voice to listen to? How to make everything okay again? How to hold it all together? How to avoid falling apart?
And suddenly the questions cannot hold, they shatter into a million silences, because a tiny bird has perched itself on the path in front of you, perched in the here and now, not in the there and then in which you are seeking your answers. Your eyes meet hers, and you know that everything is okay with the universe. Questions will get answered, or not, and solutions will appear or not appear at the perfect time, because you will make yourself available to them, as you are available now to this tiny and unexpected bird.
Perhaps today is not a day for answers and unshakeable certainties, it is a day for birdsong and staying close to questions as they walk with you down familiar paths on spring mornings.

"I love that you get cold when it's 71 degrees out. I love that it
takes you an hour and a half to order a sandwich. I love that you get a
little crinkle above your nose when you're looking at me like I'm nuts. I
love that after I spend the day with you, I can still smell your
perfume on my clothes. And I love that you are the last person I want to
talk to before I go to sleep at night. And it's not because I'm lonely,
and it's not because it's New Year's Eve. I came here tonight because
when you realize you want to spend the rest of your life with somebody,
you want the rest of your life to start as soon as possible..."

Reason for Hope: A Spiritual Journey
Some of Jane Goodall's words from her book "Reason for Hope: A Spiritual Journey"
"Even if there was no God, even if human beings had no soul, it would still be true that evolution had created a remarkable animal — the human animal — during its millions of years of labor. So very like our closest biological relatives, the chimpanzees, yet so different. For our study of the chimpanzees had helped to pinpoint not only the similarities between them and us, but also those ways in which we are most different. Admittedly, we are not the only beings with personalities, reasoning powers, altruism, and emotions like joy and sorrow; nor are we the only beings capable of mental as well as physical suffering. But our intellect has grown mighty in complexity since the first true men branched off from the ape-man stock some two million years ago. And we, and only we, have developed a sophisticated spoken language. For the first time in evolution, a species evolved that was able to teach its young about objects and events not present, to pass on wisdom gleaned from the successes — and the mistakes — of the past, to make plans for the distant future, to discuss ideas so that they could grow, sometimes out of all recognition, through the combined wisdom of the group.
With language we can ask, as can no other living beings, those questions about who we are and why we are here. And this highly developed intellect means, surely, that we have a responsibility toward the other life-forms of our planet whose continued existence is threatened by the thoughtless behavior of our own human species — quite regardless of whether or not we believe in God. Indeed, those who acknowledge no God, but are convinced that we are in this world as an evolutionary accident, may be more active in environmental responsibility — for if there is no God, then, obviously, it is entirely up to us to put things right. On the other hand, I have encountered a number of people with a strong faith in God who shrug off their own human responsibilities, believing that everything is safely “in God’s hands.” I was brought up to believe that “God helps those who help themselves.” We should all take responsibility, all play our part in helping to clean up and heal the planet that, in so many ways, we have desecrated."

Sisa-sisamu.
Biar. Cukup sudah."

Something To Ponder
Got this one from the internet...i'll copy paste it for you...
George Carlin's wife died early in 2008 and George followed her, dying in July 2008. It is ironic George Carlin - comedian of the 70's and 80's - could write something so very eloquent and so very appropriate. An observation by George Carlin:
The paradox of our time in history is that we have taller buildings but shorter tempers, wider Freeways, but narrower viewpoints. We spend more, but have less, we buy more, but enjoy less. We have bigger houses and smaller families, more conveniences, but less time. We have more degrees but less sense, more knowledge, but less judgment, more experts, yet more problems, more medicine, but less wellness.
We drink too much, smoke too much, spend too recklessly, laugh too little, drive too fast, get too angry, stay up too late, get up too tired, read too little, watch TV too much, and pray too seldom.
We have multiplied our possessions, but reduced our values. We talk too much, love too seldom, and hate too often.
We've learned how to make a living, but not a life. We've added years to life not life to years. We've been all the way to the moon and back, but have trouble crossing the street to meet a new neighbor. We conquered outer space but not inner space. We've done larger things, but not better things.
We've cleaned up the air, but polluted the soul. We've conquered the atom, but not our prejudice. We write more, but learn less. We plan more, but accomplish less. We've learned to rush, but not to wait. We build more computers to hold more information, to produce more copies than ever, but we communicate less and less.
These are the times of fast foods and slow digestion, big men and small character, steep profits and shallow relationships. These are the days of two incomes but more divorce, fancier houses, but broken homes. These are days of quick trips, disposable diapers, throwaway morality, one night stands, overweight bodies, and pills that do everything from cheer, to quiet, to kill. It is a time when there is much in the showroom window and nothing in the stockroom. A time when technology can bring this letter to you, and a time when you can choose either to share this insight, or to just hit delete.
Remember to spend some time with your loved ones, because they are not going to be around forever.
Remember, say a kind word to someone who looks up to you in awe, because that little person soon will grow up and leave your side.
Remember, to give a warm hug to the one next to you, because that is the only treasure you can give with your heart and it doesn't cost a cent.
Remember, to say, 'I love you' to your partner and your loved ones, but most of all mean it. A kiss and an embrace will mend hurt when it comes from deep inside of you.
Remember to hold hands and cherish the moment for someday that person will not be there again.
Give time to love, give time to speak! And give time to share the precious thoughts in your mind.
And always remember, life is not measured by the number of breaths we take, but by those moments that take our breath away.
George Carlin

Ho'oponopono
Hoʻoponopono (ho-o-pono-pono) is an ancient Hawaiian practice of reconciliation and forgiveness. Got this link from my friend Eva. I like this part. I'll copy paste it for you...
"This site is the result of many months of "cleaning" and procrastination. I have always felt that the simple principles of atonement offeres by Ho'oponopono are a gift from the Creator so that we may finally take our rightful place on Earth and enjoy life of peace, joy, abundance and good health...not just for some, but for everyone. I truly believe that our role on earth is of caretakers, taking care of the animals, plants and of each other. It is clear to me that we are now experiencing the effects of thousands years of greedm hate and appalling cruelty towards the animals, nature and other human beings. I believe that through Ho'oponopono The Creator has given us the opportunity to repair the damage. I am doing my part and for the sake of all of us, I hope that you will do the same."
"I am sorry, I forgive you, I love you, Thank you..."

Are We Meant to Meet the People We Meet?
I like this article by Jessica Cooper from MindBodyGreen.
"Are we destined to meet the people we meet?
Yes.
I know we are.
Every person we meet, we are meant to meet. No matter how long they stay in our lives.
Every
person has something to teach us. Whether they stay for an hour, a day,
or 10 years, they are there for the right amount of time. That amount
of time is simply how long it takes you to learn the soul lesson. There
are 6 billion people in this world, nothing is an accident.
If
the experience seems negative, and this certain person really irritates
you, or you feel like you cannot connect to someone, that experience
presents itself in your journey to give you an opportunity to learn
patience, understanding, or perhaps empathy. It gives you an opportunity
to see yourself even in someone your ego categorizes as different, less than, or not good.
The
people we meet who seem special, with whom we connect instantaneously…
they enter into our journey to show us we are on the right path. To show
that we are creating a path for ourselves that is true to our being, to
our soul, to our creativity… and connecting to people at higher levels
proves this.
If you emit that truthful,
soul-driven energy, you will receive those experiences in return.
Tenfold. So raise your vibration, be you, and see what you attract!
If
you believe that there is meaning behind every interaction in your
life, then you will always be kind, patient, loving, and be free of
attachment.
Trust that the universe has your best interest in mind, and it will.
We
are all the same, truly, at the very core of our being. We are
energies, meshing and flowing, and changing continuously. We are all in
different places in our journeys.
The soul’s journey is more than just this lifetime… so let’s all love and let go of judgment. Everything is everything."
Namaste :)

A good reminder :)
Got this post from my friend Eva's FB status. It's a good reminder for all of us :)
“The plain fact is that the planet does not
need more successful people. But it does desperately need more
peacemakers, healers, restorers, storytellers, and lovers of every kind.
It needs people who live well in their places. It needs people of moral
courage willing to join the fight to make the world habitable and
humane. And these qualities have little to do with success as we have
defined it.”

How do we fall in love?
I love Jeanette Winterson's poetic response...
"You don’t fall in love like you fall in a hole. You fall like falling through space. It’s like you jump off your own private planet to visit someone else’s planet. And when you get there it all looks different: the flowers, the animals, the colours people wear. It is a big surprise falling in love because you thought you had everything just right on your own planet, and that was true, in a way, but then somebody signalled to you across space and the only way you could visit was to take a giant jump. Away you go, falling into someone else’s orbit and after a while you might decide to pull your two planets together and call it home. And you can bring your dog. Or your cat. Your goldfish, hamster, collection of stones, all your odd socks. (The ones you lost, including the holes, are on the new planet you found.)
And you can bring your friends to visit. And read your favourite stories to each other. And the falling was really the big jump that you had to make to be with someone you don’t want to be without. That’s it.
PS You have to be brave."

Life Is Simple
"Life is simple. Everything happens for you, not to you. Everything
happens at exactly the right moment, neither too soon nor too late. You
don't have to like it... it's just easier if you do."
Got this from MindBodyGreen website. And you can check Eva Muchtar's litte writing about it :)
