The Beatles' Here Comes The Sun

I grew up with "The Beatles". My mom, dad and family....we all grew up with their songs. And I think "Here Comes The Sun" is one of the most beautiful song I've ever heard...never fails me either :)

Writer: LENNON/HARRISON/MCCARTNEY

Here comes the sun (doo doo doo doo)
Here comes the sun, and I say
It's all right

Little darling, it's been a long cold lonely winter
Little darling, it feels like years since it's been here
Here comes the sun
Here comes the sun, and I say
It's all right

Little darling, the smiles returning to the faces
Little darling, it seems like years since it's been here
Here comes the sun
Here comes the sun, and I say
It's all right

Sun, sun, sun, here it comes
Sun, sun, sun, here it comes
Sun, sun, sun, here it comes
Sun, sun, sun, here it comes
Sun, sun, sun, here it comes

Little darling, I feel that ice is slowly melting
Little darling, it seems like years since it's been clear
Here comes the sun
Here comes the sun, and I say
It's all right

Here comes the sun
Here comes the sun, and I say
It's all right
It's all right

Cousins Cooking Lunch Date :)

Yesterday (it was Sunday) me and my cousins were having some cooking lunch date. It's all girls...me, Raya, Kianti, Kara, Ranisa and Karina...sorry boys hehehe. It's funny how time flies...our moms usually cooked for us and for family gathering...and now we girls also love to cook :) This time we're having...

For fresh drinks (for this hot weather), I made Lavender Lemonade...it was very soothing, nyummy and easy...you should try. You can check the recipe here...

Let's dig in :)

For main course, we're having Dorry Schnitzel, Penne Puttanesca with salads. Raya made the Dorry, for recipe click here. And Ranisa made Penne Puttanesca. For recipe click here. For the salads, we only used green and purple/red leaves with olive oil and vinegar for the dressing, simple :)

And for dessert, Kianti made this nyummy "15 Chocolate Tart" from Jamie Oliver's recipe...

And I made some simple Appe Strudle too. Click here for the recipe.

Both chocolate tart and appple strudel, we ate it with vanilla ice cream. It's weekend, I always eat healthy food on weekdays anyway hehehe. It was a great sunday indeed! Can't wait for another cooking playdate :)

Lavender Lemonade

Got this recipe from Sunday Suppers blog.

All you need:
- 2 cups sugar
- 5 sprigs lavender (stems and buds), plus additional for garnish. But this time I don't use sprigs, I use lavender herbs :)
- 2 cups fresh lemon juice (from about 10 lemons)
- 1/2 cup fresh lime juice (from about 4 limes)

Directions:
In a large saucepan, bring one gallon of water and the sugar to a boil. Remove from heat; add 7 lavender sprigs (or 7-10 tsp of lavender herbs) and lemon and lime juices. Cool to room temperature, strain, and chill. Serve on ice, with additional lavender for garnish.

I just love the color....it sooths you right away :)

A quick Apple struddle with cinnamon

We're in the mood for apples and got some inspiration from Jamie Oliver's recipe. We changed it a bit...so here it goes :)

All you need:

- Puff pastry
- 3 apples
- 80gr of butter
- ground cinnamon
- 150gr brown sugar
- 60gr of custard sugar
- raisins

How to make it:

Preheat the oven to 180°C/350°F. Peel and slice the apples thinly, and put them in a bowl. Roll the puff pastry to make it a bit thinner, then arrange it to 15cmx15cm. Brush the puff pastry with butter, sprinkle the mixture (cinnamon, brown sugar, custard sugar & raisins), then put the apple in the centre of the pastry.
After that, fold it and make a twist on top. Place it on a baking try and bake in the preheated oven for about 20 minutes or until golden brown.

Voila!

Serve with some good vanilla ice cream, nyummmm! :)
